As you’re remodelling the kitchen in your Oakville home, you may be trying to think of ways that you can conceal your kitchen appliances while still making them easily accessible when you need to use them. Our kitchen appliances are very useful, of course, but sometimes we don’t want them on display. If you’re looking for creative and stylish ways to tuck your appliances away, here are a few ideas.

Upper Cabinets

If you don’t currently have upper cabinets, you can easily install some (provided you have the wall space), and you’ll have a spot to put the small counter appliances you use frequently but also keep them out of the way. Additionally, putting doors on the cabinets keeps a very clean look.

A Pantry

Do you have the space to put a pantry in your home? Having a pantry is a fantastic way to add some storage and keep appliances, and other kitchen needs out of the way when you aren’t using them.

Many new homes have a pantry already built into them, however, older homes in Oakville probably don’t. That doesn’t mean you can’t have one if you want. You can take some of the space and turn it into a walk-in pantry when you’re remodelling your kitchen. If you add a door, it’s that much easier to tuck away the things you don’t use on a regular basis.

Overlay Fridge

An overlay fridge is one where the door of your fridge matches the cabinets of the rest of your kitchen. This gives you the ability to easily conceal your refrigerator and have it blend into the rest of the space. This can help give you a minimalist look, too, if that’s what you’re going for.

Panel-Ready Dishwasher

A panel-ready dishwasher is similar to the overlay fridge in that the outer portion of the dishwasher will have a panel that goes over it to make it look like it’s seamless with your cabinets. This will streamline the overall look of your kitchen.

Open Shelving

While this article is about hiding appliances, there are often instances you want to showcase an appliance, and in this instance, open shelving is ideal. Opening shelving is a very modern look and is not for everyone, but it can be very nice with the appropriate matching décor.

Slide-Out Cabinets

These cabinets look exactly like regular ones, but they slide out and have a deep base so that you easily store your appliances. These cabinets are great for storing items that might be an odd size – like a blender or an air fryer.
